Schubert’s ‘Trout’
Schubert’s idea of partying was to play music with friends and to that end his ‘Trout’ quintet was composed while enjoying a summer vacation. Because it was written specifically for a group of young musicians it has an unusual combination of piano, violin, viola, cello and double bass. Nothing but joys exists in this work.
